Speira launches CORIS

CORIS combines exceptional purity, tailored alloy design and integrated processing expertise to support demanding applications.
  • High-purity aluminium for the next generation of advanced technologies

Speira is expanding its portfolio of advanced aluminium solutions with the launch of CORIS, its new label for high-purity aluminium products. Designed for industries where material performance starts at the atomic level, CORIS combines exceptional purity, tailored alloy design and integrated processing expertise to support demanding applications ranging from semiconductors and electronics to aerospace, medical technology and electrification.

High-purity aluminium plays a critical role in enabling modern technologies. As industries demand higher levels of conductivity, thermal performance, precision and reliability, conventional material specifications are often no longer sufficient. CORIS addresses these challenges by focusing on what matters most: material quality at its core. Speira refines aluminium to purity levels ranging from 3N to 6N+ and controls trace elements with ppm-level precision, creating materials engineered for consistent and reproducible performance.

“Advanced technologies increasingly depend on materials that deliver exceptional consistency and reliability,” said Eike C. Reese, Commercial Lead in Speira’s New Business Development. “With CORIS, we combine our expertise in refining, alloying, casting and rolling to provide customers with high-purity aluminium solutions that help them push technological boundaries with confidence.”

CORIS is developed for applications where purity directly influences performance. By minimizing impurities at the source, the material enables stable electrical, thermal and optical properties, predictable processing behaviour and reliable end-product performance. Typical markets include semiconductors, electronics, optics, batteries and electrification, aerospace and defence, medical technologies, thin-film and coating technologies, cryogenic conductors, optoelectronics and data and communication infrastructure.

Beyond standard high-purity grades, CORIS also offers tailor-made alloy compositions developed according to individual customer requirements. This capability supports both research-driven projects and specialised industrial applications where standard materials do not meet performance specifications.

The CORIS portfolio covers aluminium purity levels from 99.9% (3N) to 99.9999+% (6N+), available in a wide range of formats including billets, ingots, plates, sheets, foil, wire rod and customised solutions. Speira combines flexible manufacturing with deep metallurgical expertise to deliver materials precisely matched to customer requirements. The company integrates refining, casting and rolling know-how and processes high-purity aluminium at its Rheinwerk facility into a broad range of product forms. This integrated approach helps ensure consistent material quality, reliable supply and close collaboration with customers throughout product development and industrialisation and, thus, supports the development of products where conductivity, consistency, precision and process stability are critical competitive factors.

“Innovation starts with materials that enable new ideas and applications,” Reese added. “Through CORIS, we are helping customers accelerate innovation and shape the next generation of technologies.”
