Secondly, our aluminium is corrosion-resistant, almost maintenance-free, and durable, ensuring that solid aluminium road signs can withstand even the harshest environmental conditions. In addition, aluminium is a 100 % recyclable material, making it an environmentally friendly choice for sign manufacturing. If a traffic sign made of solid aluminium can no longer be reused after several decades in service, it can be returned to any normal aluminium cycle without the need for costly processing.
The robustness and flexibility of aluminium sheet for traffic signs makes it possible to produce signs in different shapes and sizes, from small priority signs in built-up areas to large freeway signs.
Innovative aluminium sheet solutions for traffic signs and license plates
Traffic signs and license plates are indispensable elements that contribute to safety and orientation on our roads. They must withstand extreme weather conditions, while retaining their functionality and visibility. Our selection of product variants provides an ideal basis for optimally meeting the specific requirements of different sign types and their mounting structures.
Speira supplies sheets in alloy groups 3xxx and 5xxx to produce small, medium, and large signs as well as license plates in thicknesses of 1-4 mm and with a maximum width of 2100 mm. We also offer alloy 5083 with optimized bending properties in thicknesses of 8-12 mm for the construction of aluminium sign bridges. We also focus on transparency: Our rolled product is suitable for the production of traffic signs with RAL quality seal GZ 628 and in accordance with EN 12899-1.

Environmentally friendly aluminium strips for CO2-reduced licence plate production
For over 30 years, Speira has been one of the leading global suppliers of pre-treated and painted aluminium strip for the production of license plates. Our focus is on environmentally friendly processes and raw materials, characterized by our recycling-based alloys EN AW-3105B and EN AW-3005A. These make it possible to produce license plates with a reduced CO2 footprint, as the alloys consist of approx. 40 % post-consumer scrap.
Speira's unique electrochemical pre-treatment ensures excellent adhesion for reflective films and coatings on the surface of the aluminium. Our products are manufactured and tested according to EN 1396, EN 13523, EN 485, EN 573.
